The 23rd World Korean Business Convention (WKBC) officially opened its doors on April 17 at the Gas South Convention Center in Duluth, Georgia. From the very first day, the exhibition floor was buzzing as Korean SMEs eagerly promoted their products and engaged in export contract discussions. Among them, K-Food booths stood out as a major draw, attracting steady streams of visitors and potential buyers.

The opening ribbon-cutting ceremony took place at 10 AM, joined by key figures including Oh Young-ju, Korea’s Minister of SMEs and Startups, promotional ambassadors Jung Tae-woo and Jung Joon-ho, and Atlanta Consul General Seo Sang-pyo.

Later in the day, WKBC hosted its first-ever G2G Forum (Government-to-Government Forum). Economic development officials from U.S. states such as Arkansas, Florida, and Alabama joined representatives from Korean regions including North Chungcheong Province and North Jeolla Province. The session provided a platform for each side to introduce their regions and discuss policies to support small and medium enterprises.

A press briefing also took place in the morning, featuring Organizing Committee Chair Noh Sang-il, WKBC Chairman Kim Ki-moon, Overseas Koreans Agency Commissioner Lee Sang-deok, and Federation of Korean American Chambers of Commerce President Lee Kyung-chul.

On the exhibition floor, one booth that stood out came all the way from Busan: RM Wineries Korea. Their unique wine labels drew curious visitors to stop and take a closer look. According to the company, their wines are made with grapes sourced from Washington State’s eastern vineyards and produced locally in the U.S., giving them a strong advantage in entering the North American market.
