RM Wineries Korea has officially fired its first shot at the global market. The company made waves at the 23rd World Korean Business Convention (WKBC), held in Atlanta from April 17–20, by unveiling a new wine category they call “Korean Branded Washington Wine.”
One of the highlights was the debut of GAHSS’NA, a sparkling rosé inspired by the Busan dialect word “가시나 (gashina),” meaning “girl.” By blending the emotional energy of Busan with Washington State’s premium winemaking expertise, RM Wineries Korea introduced a hybrid brand that stood out for its creativity and originality.
The response was immediate. Buyers from the U.S., Canada, and Uzbekistan flooded the booth with inquiries, with some even exploring exclusive distribution deals. The space quickly turned into a negotiation hub, transforming the presence from a simple exhibition into a brand anchored by contracts and partnerships.
A symbolic launch ceremony also took place for Busan’s official wine label. Representatives from Busan Metropolitan City, Seattle Port Authority, Busan Economic Promotion Agency, the Korean American Chambers of Commerce in both the U.S. and Washington State, and RM Wineries USA all joined to celebrate. Busan City officially awarded RM Wineries Korea with a “Representative Brand Certificate,” cementing its identity as a global brand with strong local roots. The Washington State Wine Commission also pledged full support, emphasizing U.S.–Korea industry collaboration and cultural partnership.

The convention proved fruitful:
• Signed an MOU with Uzbekistan distributor Growy Me to build an export platform for the CIS region
• Strengthened distribution ties with the Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce and RM Wineries USA
• Secured a $5.4M annual custom production deal with Atlanta-based franchise WNB Factory
• Began supply negotiations with major U.S. grocery retailer HEB
• Received a product lineup request from a global dining brand
• Finalized a $432K distribution contract with a major Korean liquor company
RM Wineries Korea sees this as more than just export deals. The company positions itself as a global hybrid model that marries Korea’s branding power with U.S. production infrastructure—essentially exporting both cultural identity and industrial competitiveness.
Building on this momentum, Michael O’dlee, Chairman of RM Wineries Korea, was appointed as a board member of the Intergenerational Global Network (IGN), a next-gen business leaders group under the Federation of Korean American Chambers of Commerce (FKACC).
